Self Care Diaries: Lola Faleti
Lola Faleti, AKA The Mystical Coach shares the healing powers of water
My best self-care days involve moving as slowly as possible. I block time on my calendar, usually one Sunday a month, and take my sweet time getting out of bed. I make sure I eat nourishing and energizing food so that I can feel as light as possible. I’ll have tea on my balcony, and spend quality time with my cat, Sammy.
My self-care days usually involve facials, so I’ll pay a visit to my aesthetician, Zainab. I value that time with her because I feel grounded in the present moment! When I get home, I light some candles and incense. I have an air moon, so incense really helps me cleanse and reset my mind. If the weather permits, I take a walk down to the water and just sit there.
Water is such fascinating, intelligent, spiritual technology because it holds so much. I’ll sit there for an hour, just babbling into the water. That’s where I release my problems.
I might treat myself to dessert or a meal from one of my favorite restaurants, and then I like to close out the day with a nice bath and whatever reality show I’m watching at the moment. Sometimes, the components of my self-care days change, but connecting with nature, myself, and the world around me are the main pillars.
