Staying Fit on a Budget

    

It's safe to say that we have all been a victim of both fluctuating weight gain and loss post pandemic  2020.  And that’s why this month we are setting the intention before the news year to stay in shape but not in the traditional sense. Let's face it gym memberships can be pricey and for some the thought of lifting weights may feel like a chore. So instead why not get fit on a budget and have fun while doing it. With that being said  we have a list of fun alternative ways to get fit for the new year ! Grab your yoga mat tights and sports bra’s  check in on your girls and hit the streets, and get fit on a budget in New York City.

1 .  Trapyoga Bae ( online)  

First things first if you're not able to head to a class to get fit,  then head to the web for  a yoga class that you will never forget. As seen on Issa Rae latest reality t.v show “Sweet life: Los Angeles we're taking you to  LA for some trap yoga . Trap yoga is a style of yoga class that combines the physical practice with a combination with trap music and alternative movement.  Although this class isn’t based in New York the Trap Bae has a multitude of classes that you can take online.

2. Yoga to the People ( upper west side ) 

Headed to St Marks on the upper west side we got you. In the people studio there you will find a yoga class that is completely donation based. This class teaches you the basics, so if you're a beginner this class is for you.  https://yogatothepeople.com

4. Shape Up NYC  

If you're looking for a studio that offers more than just one practice of movement then this space is for you ! These gatherings take place at parks and recreation centers throughout the 5 boroughs, while offering classes from aerobics, yoga, pilates, and zumba. https://www.nycgovparks.org/events/shape-up-nyc

5.   Bk Yoga Club 

Last but certainly not least when in Brooklyn don’t forget to check out the Bk yoga club. This studio is the first black owned yoga studio in the US,  and offers both affordable  in person and online class sessions.
