The ABJ Collective is thrilled to have the opportunity to honor the legendary Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes as Hip-Hop enters its 50th year of a never-ending era.
As a founding member of one of the most successful and beloved groups in music history, TLC, Left Eye, she brought her unique flavor to their sound and image. With her distinctive rap and fearless style, she was an inspiration to countless fans and artists alike. We are excited to celebrate her life and legacy as a trailblazer who made great music and used her platform to advocate for important causes that we at ABJ feel are seriously important and under-supported, such as HIV awareness and women's empowerment.
The Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes Foundation, also known as LLF Mission, was established in honor of the late Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, who tragically passed away in a car accident in 2002. In her memory, the foundation works tirelessly to provide aid and support to communities worldwide, focusing on education, and health initiatives, which meant the most to her. ABJ is proud to report that they have made tremendous strides over the years, implementing numerous projects that have helped countless individuals and families in need. From building schools in Honduras to providing much-needed medical equipment in Malawi, their impact has been nothing short of extraordinary. It's truly inspiring to see how Lisa's legacy lives on through this remarkable organization, and I can't wait to see what they accomplish next!

Even over twenty years after her untimely passing, her impact on the music industry continues to be felt. We can hear the melodies of her pioneering rap and fierce fashion style through many artists like Monica and Nicki Minaj today.
The unfulfilled potential of what could have been undoubtedly heartbreaking, but rather than dwell on what was lost, it's important to celebrate the incredible impact Left Eye left behind. From her humanitarian work in Honduras to her unapologetic approach to life, Left Eye will forever be remembered as a true icon who lived boldly and authentically; she left a positive and encouraging mark on humanity and Hip-Hop that will never be erased.
